Repair Department Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
Work within the technical repair department for Zahn dental. Evaluate, estimate and repair dental and Cad/Cam and dental equipment, pricing parts, quoting process and answering technical questions related to the repair and support of the various equipment lines supported by the company. Support the customer's questions regarding repairs and complete the hands on repair of all high tech equipment lines represented by Zahn dental and outside vendors. Work within department infrastructure to provide quotes to customers; and help to maintain an adequate repair parts inventory for each equipment line. Maintain repair service line and complete repairs in a timely fashion. Support profitability goals for the company within the department. Some travel to customer laboratories may be required for on-site evaluations and repairs. Work with Zahn's, Custom-Milling center and as needed to provide back up support on equipment. Work within the department operations for maintaining parts inventory in company system.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Complete the evaluation of equipment in the department for repair for Zahn dental customers and outside vendors on Cad/Cam and other lab and dental equipment. Detail reason for repair and estimate the value and costs of repairs needed to make equipment functional for use. Work with department head on creating quotes for each repair. Complete each repair as authorized by the customers and the company. Support all department logistics and scheduling of incoming requests for equipment repair and vendor, team and customer communications pertaining to the role.
Maintain daily schedules to complete all repair activity in a timely fashion. Report directly to repair department manager all reporting functions necessary to complete the job. Process part order requests through appropriate channels. Handle technical questions from customers and team members pertaining to the equipment. Customer service protocol and technical service calls pertaining to repair questions to grow relationships with customers who have equipment in the repair pipeline for a good overall company experience. Make sure testing meters are properly calibrated. Job will require lifting and moving equipment.
Help grow profitability of the department by supporting new contracts for repair of additional lines by outside vendors and inventory management of parts. Support all repair logistics. Work efficiently with other department team members implement testing protocols on new products to make sure they fit into product category needs. Attend trade shows and meetings as needed to support high tech line and trainings for technical teams. Back up support for installing equipment on site for customers as needed. Travel may be required. Technical in house repairs for key laboratories to support and trouble shoot equipment product lines. Input and maintain inventory levels on part orders into company systems.
Maintain industry awareness of OSHA laws and how they apply to state licensing requirements for this repair business expansion to make sure we are in compliance with state and federal regulations work with Technical Dept manager to make sure all communication on open issues is addressed in a timely fashion. Supports and participates in special projects as directed by department manager.

EXPERIENCE:
Job requires industry experience and technical expertise in large and small Cad/Cam and industrial milling machines, dental equipment not limited to furnaces and hand pieces. Proficient in electronics. Comfortable in mechanics and customer support.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience in technical equipment and digital scanners ability to work with small and large components, analyze and solve problems, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, professional demeanor, basic computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
